I am dedicating this race to my grandmother "Grandma Mary"

Adoption and foster care are an important part of my lineage. 

My grandmother was in an orphanage and adopted as a young child. When she started having children of her own, her deep desire to 'pay it forward' brought her and her family to foster many children. 

The best part in my opinion of their foster parent story is my Mom!  My mom was placed as a foster child at 10 days old and adopted officially at 18months!
