Help Brianna raise money

  My name is Brianna Bonds and this is my first year running the Falmouth Road Race as well as raising money for my family charity, Toots Fore Tufts, which focuses on helping provide aid to families of those who are valiantly fighting the treacherous battle against brain cancer. I am honored to participate in this charity and have the privilege of bringing relief to those who deserve a break from the chaos and uncertainty my family once knew.

   This is an especially important effort for me due to losing my uncle to brain cancer when I was just 6 years old. Sadly, I don’t carry with me many tangible memories of my uncle because of my age. However the way he lit up my heart, soul, and world will stick with me forever. What I can proudly say with confidence is my uncle was many things; comedian, athlete, giant, family man; but most importantly he was a hero. My hero. He inspires me every day to go through life with compassion and as much love and perseverance as I hear he never failed to provide. Even though he ended up losing his 8 year battle, that is not how I remember it. I remember him never letting the negatives cloud his positive aura and continuing to spread that light to all. The only time with certainty I can say I have felt invincible is sitting on top of his shoulders looking out as ruler of my little world. Now even though my world is quite bigger, it is my mission to deliver the same feeling of power  by giving back to those who feel like they have been shrunken down by tragedy.

   For nine years I have been cheering our runners from the sidelines, and I am elated to say it is finally my time to lace up my sneakers and join the fight. I kindly ask for your generosity to help me reach my goal and continue to spread the joy that my uncle brought to this world through raising money in his name. All proceeds raised go to Toots Fore Tufts, a non-profit organization we established in 2013, which exists solely to raise funds for the Marc K. Jackson Neuro-Oncology Patient Support Fund at Tufts Medical Center, where my uncle was so expertly cared for.
