Support the mission to save and heal lives through donation!
Back in the early 2000s my brother Rene needed a kidney transplant as a result of damage from cancer treatment in the early 80s. We began exploring options in 2005. Unfortunately, I was not a match for him however at the time New England Donor Services (formerly the New England Organ Bank) had a new program called the New England Program for Kidney Exchange (NEPKE). Rene and I signed up in October of 2006.
On our mother’s birthday, January 29, we got the call that there was a match! We were elated. An altruistic donor had come forward and started a chain involving 3 donors and 3 recipients. This was a big deal at the time. Fortunately donor chains now can get quite long.
In 2014 my niece Megan (Rene’s youngest daughter) and I ran our first Falmouth Road Race together for NEDS. This year will be Megan’s 11th Falmouth. On the 10th anniversary of our first Falmouth together we will be running again for NEDS and in honor of Rene!
I appreciate any support you can offer for the amazing work NEDS does for those in need of organ and tissue transplantation. Read more about NEDS: https://neds.org

Lastly, a friend and fellow NEDS volunteer, Robin Lataille, is currently searching for a living donor. Robin is a wonderful person who has been volunteering for NEDS for more than 15 years. If you are open to being a living donor for Robin you can learn more at https://www.nkr.org/BDP546?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR176H2olM304oLjm9yFMr_S-KoJhTycafL4M2Y9YzCLQJt4imk-aDi0tdA_aem_AWqUOJc6C8a2NPnwq1wNWZiiMADrueqqYl6LtuWBcPT2VXUW20uPdHVei9WCEmGg0kXFaBzRvjJyBS2tHTPsHynd
I would appreciate it if you would share her link far and wide!

Description
New England Donor Services is the not-for-profit organization serving the region for organ and tissue donation. There are currently 6,500 patients waiting for an organ transplant in New England and countless others will require tissue to heal this year. With approximately half of the population registered donor, it's critical for more people to join the Donor Registry today. Funds are needed to help educate the community about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the need across the community. Give now and show your support!
