Support CCALS!
On April 20th, 2023, I was diagnosed with ALS. Throughout the last year, I have been extremely lucky. Yes, lucky! I have met so many amazing people. Most of us in the ALS community say the disease is awful, but the people are amazing.
Early on I met Ron Hoffman from Compassionate Care ALS. He's been to my house, helped guide us, and made us feel safe.
His organization seems to know what I need before I do. CCALS has provided us with a wheelchair, bath seat, stair lift, voice amplifier, suction machine, belts, transfer equipment, and most importantly -- friendship.
One of the amazing people who works for CCALS is Jim. Every year, Jim runs the Falmouth Road race and pushes someone with ALS. This year, he is going to push me!
I can not tell you how honored I am to “run” Falmouth with Jim. I am raising funds for CCALS to try to give back a small amount of what I have received.
Description
CCALS offers an innovative and holistic range of services tailored to meet the needs of individuals with ALS and their families. The services we offer are typically not covered by insurance. CCALS works with families in New England, across the United States, and internationally. The organization provides resources including equipment, educational workshops, Medicaid assistance, guidance and awareness in living with ALS, caregiving, and end-of-life issues. All funds raised through the Falmouth Road Race go directly to assisting families with ALS.
