My team
My Story…
The name kinda says it all: Team Impact. In 2023, Lew paired with Stanford baseball through this program and he got all the team, all the impact. From a signing day, to a locker in the locker room, to batting practice, to field drills with the players. Lew calls the team "his guys" and truly feels he's on the Cardinal. And the team does too. After an extra inning win this spring, Lew went down to the edge of the field to wave goodbye, and the team looked up in the middle of celebrating and all yelled "LEW!" (I cried) The belonging and purpose and confidence-building -- we couldn't be more grateful. And I know Team Impact benefits collegiate athletes too, bonding them to kids and reminding them of the world outside of their demanding and stressful sport. It's what you'd call a win-win.
I'm running Falmouth this year to raise money for Team Impact so that more and more kids with serious health issues can have this beautiful and uplifting team experience. I'd love your support!
Description
Team IMPACT tackles the emotional trauma and social isolation experienced by children facing serious and chronic illnesses by matching them with a college athletic team. Through our two-year therapeutic program that complements their medical treatments, children develop relationships and skills that help them complete the full circle of healing. Because no child should be sidelined by sickness
