My Story…
I am excited to run this year's Falmouth Road Race for Empower to honor both of my parents, Cindy & Jack, who passed unexpectedly at different points in my life. I lost my Dad when I was 20 years old and my Mom when I was 31. Living with grief is incredibly tough. I think it's crucial for all children and young adults who experience such a profound loss to have community and support, so I couldn’t be more proud and grateful to volunteer with Empower and run in support of their mission on race day!

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
