Support CCALS!
This is my first of hopefully many years running the Falmouth Road Race in the name of a person I have met and cared for through CCALS. This year, I dedicate this run to Dr. Zigmond, a neuroscientist, father, mentor, athlete, runner and simply amazing and inspirational person.
I had a chance to meet him last summer, at his home along the Falmouth Road Race. His room was surrounded by pictures of family. At his side, his wife and caregiver and mentee. His stories reflected his love of exercise, running, his curiosity of how activity would effect the progress of Parkinson’s. He never wished to finish contributing to the world of Neuroscience, tackling its devastating diseases and mentoring younger scientists with his deep integrity and commitment.
I am also running, in this manner for the High School students at Harley School in Rochester NY who bravely lean into a year long elective in Hospice, tending to patients and joining CCALS for a learning and service week where they learn about ALS from our team and more importantly, our families.

Description
CCALS offers an innovative and holistic range of services tailored to meet the needs of individuals with ALS and their families. The services we offer are typically not covered by insurance. CCALS works with families in New England, across the United States, and internationally. The organization provides resources including equipment, educational workshops, Medicaid assistance, guidance and awareness in living with ALS, caregiving, and end-of-life issues. All funds raised through the Falmouth Road Race go directly to assisting families with ALS.
