My Story…
My father passed away unexpectedly at the age of 44 when I was 12 years old and the youngest of three siblings. In a split second, the loss of my dad forever changed my life, and so many members of my family's lives, forever.
I am so grateful that my life-shattering experience as a young girl lead me to Empower and the opportunity to run for an organization that makes such a profound impact on the lives of children and young adults who have lost a parent.
My dad was an incredibly gifted athlete and coach and it gives me great joy to be running this race in his honor in support of Empower. Any contribution to Empower's mission is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
