My Story…
Crunch time is here, and I couldn't be more excited to support Empower by running in the Falmouth Road Race next weekend!
Growing up, I watched my mom bravely battle cancer from the time I was about 10 years old. Thankfully, she beat the odds during my childhood. But as a child, I always knew there was a chance we could lose her. This experience is why I’m so passionate about Empower’s mission.
Empower connects children who have lost a parent with mentors who have also endured such a loss. While nothing can fill the void of a parent, these mentors provide guidance and support to help these kids navigate their lives.
The Falmouth Road Race is a key fundraiser for Empower, supporting meaningful events like back-to-school shopping with mentors and special Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations at Gillette Stadium. If you’re able, I would be so grateful for any donation to Empower through my fundraising page.

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
