The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine offers full-service, state-of-the-art emergency care around the clock. Serving over 120,000 patients annually, our dedicated nurses, physicians, providers and staff are committed to providing the best possible emergency care possible, safely and effectively, and to all who need it. 

The Mass General Emergency Department is the only level one trauma and burn center for both adults and pediatric patients in New England. We are one of the largest emergency departments in the country, with vast research and academic programs including 60 emergency medicine residents and 10 physicians completing fellowships in subspecialty areas of expertise, constantly working to provide better and cutting-edge care.
