GEMS DAA Aquathlon event

Welcome to the Just Du it Aquathlon event held at Gems World Academy.

The race is going to take place on the 18th of January 2024 and is open for all ages and abilities. The aquathlon is a run-swim-run format and is aimed at those with high sporting aspirations and capabilities as well as those new to multi sports introducing this amazing sport!

Registration is open now - please click on the registration button on the left to be a part of this unique GEMS and RaceME experience. DAA staff and parents are also invited (for free) to participate and compete with each other and a great opportunity to race with your child!

The event distances are based on age and are outlined below:

6-7yr olds: Run 400m | Swim 25m (kick board allowed)| Run 400m

8-9yr olds: Run 400m | Swim 25m (kick board allowed)| Run 400m
10-11yr olds: Run .800m | Swim 50m | Run 400m
12-13yr olds: Run 800m | Swim 100m | Run 800m
14-15yr olds: Run 1600m | Swim 200m | Run 800m
16+ yr olds: Run 1600m | Swim 400m | Run 1600m
Faculty & Parents: Run 1600m | Swim 200m | Run 800m (FREE ENTRY)

All entries are 70AED + VAT.

The participant will collect a medal for completion, plus a medal for the overall winner in each age group female and male. The results will be published shortly online after the event.

Event Requirements:

1 - Participants need to stay at the designated area which will be marked for each school.

2 - Each participant will be given by the accompanied teacher a timing chip which needs to be placed on the left ankle.

3 - Participants must come in their school's PE kit and need to wear their swimsuit/ swim shorts underneath.

4 - Bring your water bottle and hat/cap with you.

5- The school will provide noodles and kickboards as swimming aids. The participant should be able to swim 25m with an aid without stopping. Please check if you are unsure if your child is eligible by emailing the PE department from your school.

6 - All athletes must remain in the swimming kit after their swim, and be dressed in a T-shirt/ vest, shorts, and running trainers to complete the final run phase of the race. The participant will not be allowed to leave the transition if not properly dressed.

7 - Skins can be worn for this event but T-Shirt and Shorts must be worn over for the run phase.
