COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is a roughly three-mile loop around the grounds of YMCA Camp Sloper. It's run mostly on single-track wooded trails, but includes some grass and dirt road sections with rolling hills throughout. Parts of the course are covered with rocks and roots, while other sections are smoother. You’ll experience a wide variety of terrain and scenery. The course will be marked with flags and ribbons.
We will hold at least one course preview run at Camp Sloper in the weeks leading up to the Spring Fling. Anyone can join us for this preview run; however, only members of the Southington / Cheshire YMCA can visit Camp Sloper at other times.
COURSE SUPPORT
There will be one aid station at the main pavilion start / finish area. Runners will have access to traditional trail ultra food, such as baked items, fruit, baked items, chips, baked items, candies, baked items, water, baked items, and electrolyte drink. Plus we’ll have plenty of baked items because the CT Trailmixers love to bake. We’ll also have a few surprises throughout the day. If you have specific nutritional needs, please bring your own stuff.
You’ll be able to set up your “shop” and drop bag right at the main start/finish area and aid station.
Portalets will be available near the start of the course, and you’ll also have access to real bathrooms just a few hundred feet from the aid station.
No pacers are allowed on the race course. Only people who have registered can participate.
