Anaconda WHITSUNDAY TRAIL FEST
Event Information
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest 2024, will be in it’s 18th year from it original concept by the Mackay Road Runners in 2005 when they introduced the 28km trail event. The event is now brought to you by the Whitsunday Running Club, who has been organising this event for the last 9 years. Over those years, the event has grown from the original 28kms. To now include the Ultra 58km, 11k Honeyeater Challenge and the Kids Beach Run, with runners running along Airlie Beach foreshore.
The event will be held on Sunday 8th September 2024.
Saturday 7th September - Race Precinct (Airlie Beach Saturday markets)
- 7.00am Airlie Beach Parkrun - Coral Sea Marina near the Garden Bar and Cafe Boho
- 9:00am to 10:00am Anaconda - Cannonvale Bib Collection
- 2.00pm to 5:00pm Whitsunday Trail Fest 2024 Registration/Late Entries/Race Pack collection from the race precinct

- Beach Bash races start following the Mascot Race
- 10:30am START – Kids Beach Bash (ages 8 +) 1 Mile

- 12:00pm Presentations starts at the completion of the first, 2nd and 3rd female male winners of the WTF58k Ultra

WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra Closed

The WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra is an out and back course that starts in the Airlie Beach Race Precinct that ascends into the lush and tropical Conway Circuit National Park. The course is self supported for the first 28k until you reach your check point at the Brandy Creek turn around point. The course is a combination of fire trail and narrow walking tracks including some very steep sections on dirt and on rock and sections that are rough under foot with a few creek crossings throughout the trail. There is no requirement to have completed any other particular event in order to participate in the WTF58. You are required to be at least 18 years old. You also need to be an experienced trail runner and must be sufficiently skilled and trained to undertake the event. WTF28 Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Closed

The original and still most popular distance, the WTF28 Anaconda Whitsunday Trail is a point-to-point run from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach maintains its position as the Whitsundays preeminent offroad race, attracting trail runners from Australia and overseas. All runners in WTF28 need to have their mandatory gear checked at the time of collecting of their race pack. If the runner does not have the required mandatory gear required, they will not be to compete in the event. Please read through the gear list, of what mandatory gear is required to be able competed in the event. Please noted there are minimal water stations along the trail, so you need to take enough water to get you through the trail safely. Honeyeater Shokz Challenge 11k Closed

The Honeyeater Shokz 11k challenge is starting to become a popular favorite trail runs for beginner runners. It is one the challenging runs, as you ascent into the clouds towards the lookout, which over looks the Coral Sea.There is no requirement to have completed any other particular event in order to participate in the Honeyeater Shokz Challenge 11k however we recommend that you cary enough hydration to get to from the start and return to finish. Junior Kids Beach Bash Closed

The Kids Beach Bash is an out and back course that takes place from the Airlie Beach foreshore sound stage and runs along the Airlie Beach foreshore to the point and back again. It is one loop along the beach and is about 700m. Kids receive and event shirt and medal with their early bird registration. The course fluctuates due to the tides however starts and stops in the WTF event precinct with a fun loop around and is fun for all ages from 4 plus.

Survivors Beach Bash Closed

There is no requirement to have completed any other particular event in order to participate in the Survivors Beach Bash. This is a participation event with lucky dip prizes and shirts are only available for early bird registered participants or if available. The finishers medals may vary from the main event. As this event will be run on sand, all care is taken to make sure competitors are safe. The distance is based on the tides on the day of the event. Starting from the start line to the dugong and then back twice.

Kids Beach Bash Closed

The Kids Beach Bash is to give those fast feet a chance to race a bit further than the Juniors. It is an out and back course that takes place from the Airlie Beach foreshore sound stage. The course runs along the Airlie Beach foreshore to the dugong point and back again along the beach twice. The total distance is approximately 1 mile. The minimal age to run in the event is 8 years old. As this event will be run on sand, all care is taken to make sure competitors are safe. The distance is based on the tides on the day of the event.
