Break Free 5/10k Run & Walk
Lace up your shoes, and get ready for the 3rd Annual
Break Free 5/10K Run & Walk.
June 22, 2024
Join us at beautiful Cardiff Park for a 5k run/walk and a 10k run and help us add colour to the lives of those impacted by domestic violence.
Funds raised through this event will support vulnerable community members who are facing domestic violence. JMMF offers programming through Outreach, community education, and safe housing at Jessie's House and Eileen's Place.
Jessie's House is a 35 bed all-gender emergency shelter for individuals and families who are fleeing domestic violence. Jessie's House is also the home of our 24 hour crisis line and Child Care Program.
Eileen's Place, which is set to open in April 2024, is a second stage housing program for clients who need more time to meet their goals. Fund raised at this event will help us provide essential programming at Eileen's Place as operations are currently unfunded by the government.
Our mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence through the actions of advocacy, community engagement, awareness, education and safe housing at Jessie House.
Our vision is a future free of violence.

Event Program
LET'S GET COLOURFUL!
You can expect to enjoy a fun day with The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation alongside family and friends. The day will start with you easing into registration, powering up through a fun warm up, and then we will catch a glimpse of you as you dash out of the starting line in a colour cloud. Run, walk, or dance your way through the course making memories along the way. And don't forget to bring your pooch along - we are dog friendly as long as you can say the same for your canine pal.
You can expect to get a little wet and come out a little... okay A LOT more colorful than when you started, all for the love of community and helping us Break Free from DV!
