Race 3 BTC Summer Series - Sunday 21st January 2024
Busselton Volunteer Marine Rescue Group Centre Car Park
opposite Barnard Park, Geographe Bay Road, Busselton
Our Busselton course is always a favourite and is well established.
Under the direction of the Busselton Surf Life Saving Club (BSLSC), participants will enjoy the invitingly clear and shallow waters of Bay for either a 750m, (sprint) or 250m (enticer) course swim along the coast in the direction of prevailing conditions to exit at the boat ramp at the Busselton Volunteer Marine Rescue Centre and then head into transition in the car park of the Rescue Centre.
The bike leg will comprise of either 4 laps (20 km) for the sprint distance or 2 laps (10 km) for the enticer length course along the ocean on Port Geographe Bay Road east to Guerin Street.
Cyclists will need to complete 180 degree turns around a cone at each end of the bike course so please take care, with more competent riders allowing time for slower riders to negotiate the turns. For participant safety, the bike course will be held under closed road conditions for the exclusive benefit of those participating.
The run course will be an out and back loop 1.25km loop to the East on the coastal foreshore walk/cycleway. Enticer course participants will do one lap (2.5km) and those doing the sprint distance (5km) will do two laps to complete their race. The finish is back at transition under Busselton’s majestic foreshore pine trees.
A Trystar event option will be included for 7-12year olds and a Team option is available for the Sprint event. A team can comprise 2 or 3 members, each of whom must register.
Whilst there will be an aid station at the beginning of the run course (to coincide with the turn around) we urge you to bring your own hydration and nutrition as preferred. Water only will be on the aid station, and athletes can leave a personal water bottle on the table.

As this event is about having fun, if your child is not a strong swimmer, they will be allowed to run along in the shallow water (calf deep).
All aspects of Trystars events are heavily supervised with the swim under the watchful eye of the BSLSC and the bike ride conducted under closed road conditions. Trystars must register online before the event (more information below) and we suggest Trystars arrive before 6:45am to allow plenty of time to get set up before their event.
