• RACE DETAILS

  Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that participants receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners/walkers must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib.

  Runners/walkers MUST wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. The bib cannot be covered, holding it in your hand or putting it in your pocket will NOT read the chip. Do not bend the chip. Smart watches such as Garmin and smart phones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes for times on Smart watches and smart phones will not be taken into consideration.

  
  

  Awards: All runners and walkers will be timed. Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.

  We encourage all participants to run or walk at your own pace.

  Packet Pick-Up for runners AND walkers: Packet pick-up begins at 8:00 am on race day. We will accept registrations during this time but cannot guarantee this year's t-shirt.

SCADaddle REUNION EVENTS

Saturday, after Award Presentation (done at the Riverwalk Gazebo)

The meet-up will take place at SOUTHERN MARYLAND SAILING ASSOCIATION 14490 Solomons Island Rd, Solomons Island, MD 20688

The Heartwarming Meet & Greet event will occur for SCAD Survivors and SCAD Angel Families. This is a beautiful time of meeting survivors and families of those who did not survive. In addition to meeting and hearing SCAD experiences, the Angel family members can share their SCAD Angels story.

The meet-up will take place at SOUTHERN MARYLAND SAILING ASSOCIATION 14490 Solomons Island Rd, Solomons Island, MD 20688 after the Awards Ceremony. The Sailing Association is almost directly across the street from the gazebo.

On your walk to the Southern Maryland Sailing Association stop by BUNKY'S CHARTER BOATS to grab lunch and bring to the Sailing Association. There are indoor and outdoor tables with an indoor Cash Bar...... seating available outside for wonderful views of the Patuxent River, The Solomons Bridge, The Riverwalk and Back Creek.

Bunky's offers a variety of to-go foods

Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Chicken Tenders, French Fries, Mozzerella Sticks, Hot Dogs, Nacho's & Cheese, Deep Fried Oreo's, Funnel Cakes and a variety of Hershey's Ice Cream products.

SCAD EDUCATION SEMINAR with DR. SONIA SAMTANI

Directly following the Awards Ceremony. Seminar will take place at the Southern Maryland Sailing Association across from the Riverwalk Gazebo.

Dr. Sonia R. Samtani will be talking about up-to-date SCAD Information. This seminar focuses on SCAD Survivors and Angel Families, but anyone can attend. Dr. Samtani is a Interventional Cardiologist. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Interventional Cardiology. She is well known in the community for her knowledge of Cardiac Arrhythmias and treating SCAD patients; she is also known for her compassion and empathy toward her patients. She will be available to answer questions at the end of the talk.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS

All rooms MUST be booked before Tuesday, May 7, 2024. After this date, the group room block is released to the general public and you will no longer have access to the special group rate.

The rates vary from $105/night to $145/night. There are whirlpool rooms available that face the Marina. The majority of rooms available are on the second floor. There is no elevator. If you need a handicap room, please let the hotel know when you are booking.

Solomons Island has a lot of tourists that come in the Spring, and the hotel rooms fill up quickly. There are also several Air BNBs and Bed & Breakfasts in the area and on the Island.
