OUR CAUSE
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Join us for our 1st annual Texas SCADaddle to raise money for much-needed SCAD research. Our run/walk takes place in Wolfe Pen Creek Park, a family & dog friendly location. The race/walk will be a 3.1 mile loop around the park. We encourage participants to go at their own pace.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday evening:
- 6:00 - 8:30 pm Meet & Greet for SCAD survivors and Angel Families
Saturday morning:
- 7:30-8:30 am Check in, Packet Pick-up, & Registration
- 8:45-9:00 am Opening Ceremony
- 9:00- 12:00 pm Race/Walk Begins & Awards Ceremony and Post race Social & Lunch (included with race ticket)
Register by March 31st to guarantee this year's SCADaddle t-shirt.
The SCADaddle takes place rain or shine. Come prepared by bringing your raincoat, umbrella and sunscreen.
There are NO refunds.

Race Details
RACE DETAILS
Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that participants receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners/walkers must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib.
Awards: All runners and walkers will be timed. Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.
We encourage all participants to run or walk at your own pace.
Packet Pick-Up for runners AND walkers: Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 am on race day. We will accept registrations during this time but cannot guarantee this year's t-shirt.

SCADaddle REUNION EVENTS
Friday evening Meet & Greet History The Heartwarming Friday evening Meet & Greet event will occur for SCAD Survivors and SCAD Angel Families. This is a beautiful evening of meeting survivors and families of those who did not survive. In addition to meeting and hearing SCAD experiences, the Angel family members can share their SCAD Angels story.
Friday evening information and location (Time 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm) Coopers BBQ - (3055 Earl Rudder Freeway South, College Station, Texas 77840) Upon arrival guests will go through the line to obtain their food. Afterward, they will go to the reserved private room where you will mingle and dine with SCAD Survivors and SCAD Angel Families. *For those interested, here is the link to Coopers BBQ https://coopersbbqcollegestation.com/
(Race packets may be picked up during the Meet & Greet ONLY for SCAD Survivors and Angel Families)

Silent Auction
A Silent Auction will be hosted during the 5k, so please look for that table if you are interested in any of the items. Along with the beautiful quilt, we will have an elegant Texas A&M Women's watch, a gift certificate to pick up some A&M gear while you are here, and some bark boxes for all dog lovers!
