This course provides unique opportunities to run on a real runway in a great community! 2024 is the 50th anniversary of the Wetaskiwin airport. This event is in conjunction with other festivities with the Wetaskiwin flying club and City.
Celebrate local! Locally produced swag, medals and bibs. Meet local exhibitors. All proceeds stay local and are donated to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation.
Fly through a flat and fast course. This opportunity would not be possible without the City of Wetaskiwin, Reynolds Alberta Museum and the Wetaskiwin flying club.
5km plus a kids run. Kids run is free with the registration of an adult.
Participants in the 5k will receive a $10 meal voucher, Locally made medal, 7 summits chocolate bar and other cool running related treats.

Two race distances, 5km and 500m kids run. (Race distances are slightly longer but have been measured with two separate GPS. Accuracy is Measured to within .2km.
Enjoy the festival atmosphere with Antique cars, Aircraft, kids activities and food trucks.
No other race in Western Canada provides the opportunity to take flight both on your feet and in a real aircraft.
5 KM race route
The surface is 70% paved 30% packed gravel. This is a fast course that is beautiful to run.
2km Route is from the Wetaskiwin terminal building and only on the paved runway surface.
500m Kids run is paved. Free with adult participation of another distance.
This is a 100% volunteer organised event to raise money for the Wetaskiwin Hospital foundation. We are here for everyone to have a positive experience, racers and volunteers alike.
This is an all weather event. Extenuating circumstances may warrant a differed entry.
