My Story…
I’m asking you to please stop for a moment and take care of yourself because people need you. Your child(ren) need YOU! 15 weeks ago, the unthinkable changed my life. It wasn’t the worst news I have received but rather a realization of what God needed me to do. This post is not a cry for a pity party, so please DO NOT feel sorry for me. This post is rather a chance for me to help people change their lives for the better. Don’t wait for the moment you feel ill to see a doctor. I had been feeling the best I had in years when my life took a turn. On, January 27 I felt a lump in my breast and right away reached out to a friend who had me in her office that Monday morning. After six hours of tests and results I knew what was to come. I said doc I got Madonna tickets tonight. I’m going and I promise tomorrow the changes begin. So, that night I partied and danced without a worry or fear of what was to come. Next morning, I woke up and began my new life. After two weeks of doctor visits and tests, the day before my 45th birthday, I got confirmation of what I already knew. “We know it’s breast cancer but it has spread to a stage 4 metastatic.” My reply was, “Ok. Doc, this is still not changing how I feel. It’s not the worst news I have ever received nor will this be what kills me. In Jesus’s mighty name! “ I wake up every morning at 4:30am still going to the gym. Have made dietary changes which I’m still working through. Still going to work every day and still driving my son to all his crazy sports and jobs. Moral of this story is you are your biggest challenge. With faith and a positive mind anything and everything is capable. This has not been my first battle with the devil and I know these battles are being given to me for a reason. God needs warriors to show the masses who He truly is. Cancer, you are the work of the devil and you have come to the wrong house, that’s for sure. I owe it to myself, my son , my parents(who fought every day to be here) and to those who believe in me to fight this battle like a champ. This battle is just at the beginning stages so stay tuned because I have so much more to show you for you are capable of achieving greatness. I must give a huge shout out to my coworkers who don’t realize are my daily rocks. I’m pretty sure they deal with most of my crazy 🤪. To my family and friends, who have been nothing but amazing between prayers and checking on me, I thank you and appreciate every single one of you. You cannot imagine how much you all have played a huge part in keeping my mindset positive. If anyone has questions or just needs to be reminded of how much life is worth living DM me or just check my page because this journey will be raw and unapologetic. #fucancer #youcannothaveme #iwillnotgoeasy #livingwithcancer #metacancerlife
