FAQ

Race Venue

1. Where will be the race be held?

The Start/Finish line will be on the Legacy Trail near the dog park area in Coldstream Park, 1850 Pisacano Drive, Lexington, KY 40511.

2. What time does the race start?

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 1:00 pm.

3. What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the race start time.

4. Where will I park?

Parking is available in the field near the race site between Pisacano Drive and the creek.

5. Are there any restrictions at the race venue?

None at this time.

Race Registration

1. When does online registration close?

Online registration will remain open up to and through race day.

2. Can I register on race day?

Yes! Please register online before leaving for the race.

3. Are there any registration discounts?

Yes! Be sure to sign up by March 23rd to receive the early bird rate. Also, students and groups of 4 or more (registered in one transaction) will receive a discount of $3 off per person.

4. Can I create or join a team?

Yes! You can create a new Group/Team on the first step of the registration process or Join an existing team. Register at least 4 members in one transaction under the "group rate" option and save $3/participant at checkout.

5. What do I get for my registration fee?

Your registration fee includes your race number, chip timing, race shirt (while supplies last) and swag bag.

6. Is there a benefiting charity?

Yes, all proceeds benefit the UK Ag Equine Programs' Student Experience and Applied Education Fund.

7. Can I get a refund of my registration fee?

Sorry. Registration fees are non-refundable.

8. Should I register my young children?

Small children that can't run or walk the 5K need not be registered. Only registered participants will receive a race number and race shirt.

Race Participation

1. When can I get my race shirt and race number?

Packet pickup will be onsite the day of the event.

2. Can I view a course map?

Yes. Click here to view the course map.

3. Is the course totally on hard surfaces?

Yes! The course is and out & back design on the Legacy Trail in the Coldstream area.

4. Is the course suitable for strollers?

Yes. Pushing a stroller on this course is possible. Please start in the back of the race pack.

5. Can I walk the race?

Yes! Walkers are welcome.

6. Can I bring my dog?

Yes! No retractable leashes please. Retractable leashes are a trip hazard for other participants.

7. Are there other restrictions?

None at this time.

8. What is a Virtual 5K?

A Virtual run/walk event enables remote participation in the event. A virtual participant will NOT participate in the in-person event at Coldstream Park, but can select the time and place for their 5K run/walk. Virtual participants may submit their time between Saturday, April 13th and Monday, April 15th.

9. Will there be additional activities the day of the race?

Yes! We plan to have food trucks, as well as hands-on, family friendly activities immediately following the race. A more detailed schedule will be available closer to race day.

Race Timing/Awards/Results

1. Will the race be timed?

Yes. The race timing will be provided by Bluegrass Timing.

2. Will awards be presented after the race?

Overall awards for the top male (2) & female (2) finishers will be based on "gun time". Age group awards for the top male (1) & female (1) in the following age groups will be based on "chip time" : 0-12, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & over.

3. What awards will be given out?

The overall top male (2) and female (2) finishers will receive grand champion and reserve champion ribbons. Top male (1) and female (1) in each of the categories will receive blue ribbons.
