St Paddy's Day Fun Run/Walk

To keep things affordable to all, the cost of this event is only $25 plus race roster’s transaction fee.

Limited field: This event is strictly limited to the first 60

entries.

When: Saturday March 16, 2024.

Distance: 8 km loop

Start location: Community Christian Reformed Church (CCRC) on 1275 Bleam's Rd, in Kitchener.

Walk start time: 10:45 am Slower runners wanting to finish by noon can start with walkers.

Run start time: 11 am

Name tags: Upon arrival to facility, all registered participants will receive a name tag. This name tag allows you access to this facility function. All in attendance must wear their tags.

Event check in: The main entrance to the CCRC will open at 10:15 am. Please pick up your name tag as you enter. The tag will identify you as a registrant.

Washroom: The CCRC has full washrooms available, for your convenience.

Fun Run/Walk: This event is a runners/walkers social event with no focus on racing! Runners and walkers must use the sidewalks along the 8 km route and avoid running on the road.

Course: (*small pylons on all turns) Leave the parking lot and turn right onto Bleams Rd and follow for about 300 meters to Washburn Rd. Continue on Washburn Rd for approximately 900 meters to Trillium Dr. Turn right onto Trillium Dr. Continue for approximately 1.4 km until you reach Strasburg Rd. Turn right on Strasburg Rd and continue for approximately 800 meters until you reach the roundabout at Huron Rd, Turn right on Huron Rd and continue for approximately 800 meters until you reach Parkvale Dr. Turn right on Parkvale continue for approximately 1.2 km until you reach Woodbine Ave. Turn left on Woodbine Ave and follow for approximately 200 meters to Seabrook Dr. Turn right on Seabrook Dr and continue for approximately 500 meters to the roundabout at Fischer-Hallman Rd. Turn right on Fischer Hallman Rd and continue for approximately 1.6 km while staying on the right shoulder of the road. Turn right at Bleams Rd roundabout and follow for 300 meters and then turn right into the driveway at the Community Christian Reformed Church.

Trail Option: Runners or walkers wanting to do the trail at Huron Natural Area are welcome to do so at their own risk. I will not be monitoring the trail for this event and would recommend use of proper foot traction.

Reception/Food: Tim Hortons coffee will be available from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm. We will have Pizza delivered. The pizza choice will be vegetarian, Canadian, gluten free vegetarian and Canadian. There will also be bottled water, juice boxes, vanilla ice cream and apple pie.

Prizes: The names of all registered participants will go into the draw including the volunteers. There will be five $100.00 Runners’ Choice gift cards among the draw prizes.

Both Rick and Debbie will make presentations between 12:30 pm - 1 pm, at the CCRC facility.
