1. Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee will adjust this call according to the current Regulations of WA, the norms and provisions issued by FMAA and AIMS, as well as the authorities of the Government of the State of Jalisco and the Municipality of Guadalajara.

2. Regulations
The XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA® is a 21,097-meter certified and homologated urban footrace endorsed by WA, FMAA, and AIMS. All Mexican and foreign individuals who meet the requirements specified by the regulations established by WA, as well as the norms issued by FMAA, the Organizing Committee, and those expressed in this call, will have access to participate.
If the athlete cannot provide evidence of any of the requirements outlined in this document, they will be ineligible to participate, and the registration fee will not be refunded.
Upon registration, participants must provide accurate information, which will be considered a sworn statement regarding the information provided. They must ensure that they are in optimal health conditions, authorize the Waiver of Legal Liability, and acknowledge the Privacy Notice of the XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA®.
Athletes must be 18 years old on the day of the race and sign the liability waiver to receive their bib number.
3. Start, Route, and Finish Line.
The urban asphalt circuit is certified by WA, FMAA, and AIMS, marked with a line, and kilometer indicators follow WA regulations. The event is included in the WA International Calendar and holds the distinction of World Athletics Gold Label. The race will start on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Zona Minerva in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA® will designate start zones to establish warm-up areas and enhance the comfort and safety of all athletes.
- 06:20 hours: Paralympic categories (zone 1).
- 06:30 hours: Elite athletes (zone 2) and qualified athletes (zone 3).
- 06:35 hours: Conventional athletes (zone 4 onwards).
Athletes will have access to a cloakroom service, which will open an hour before the start, and they must retrieve their belongings by 10:30 hours. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any damage, theft, or total or partial loss.
Water, isotonic drinks, vaseline, sponges, and showers will be provided along the route according to the current Competition and Technical Regulations of WA.
Only vehicles designated by the Organizing Committee are authorized to follow the race. Following runners on motorcycles, bicycles, skates, or any other vehicle is strictly prohibited. Local police and Organizing Committee personnel will remove them from the circuit to prevent accidents.
The security strategy on the Half Marathon route will be implemented from 06:00 to 10:00 hours at the finish line arch. Any athlete exceeding the specified time on the rear table must mandatory withdraw from the race and/or board the assigned vehicle; failure to do so releases the Organizing Committee from any responsibility.
BACK TABLE
The finish line will be at Zona Minerva in the city of Guadalajara, with the official maximum time to complete the race set at 10:00 hours. After this time, any athlete loses the right to receive their medal and official time registration.
4. Categories and Records.
Age as of the day of the event.
A Female / A Male: 18-34 years
B Female / B Male: 35- 39 years
C Female / C Male 40-44 years
D Female / D Male 50-54 years
E Female / E Male 55-59 years
G Female / G Male 60-69 years
H Female / H Male 70 and older
I Female / I Male: Para-athlete aged 18 and over, using a wheelchair
J Female / J Male: Para-athlete aged 18 and over, completely blind and visually impaired
K Female / K Male: Para-athlete aged 18 and over, with bilateral hearing impairment and a decibel equal to or greater than 55 in both ears.
4.1 Elite Athletes
They are individuals who have established records endorsed by WA to compete in labeled events. Additionally, for this edition, the Organizing Committee will consider as elite athletes those who request it and provide information from a race endorsed by WA or FMAA where they have a Half Marathon time from the years 2024, 2023, or 2022; for the women's category with a time equal to or less than 01:22:00 minutes and for the men's category with a time equal to or less than 01:08:00 minutes.
4.2. Qualified Athletes.
Participants wishing to enter Zone 3, designated for qualified athletes, must be registered as participants and meet the requirements outlined in the Call for the XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA®, and additionally comply with the following provisions:
To be considered a qualified athlete for this Half Marathon, request the Organizing Committee via email at athlete.clasificado@comudeguadalajara.gob.mx from Monday, January 29, to Friday, February 16, 2024. Specify full name, official participant number, gender, and category.
Attached to the email mentioned in the previous paragraph is a time certificate with the participant's name, achieving a time equal to or less than those established in the following table for qualified athletes. The time must have been obtained in a race endorsed by WA or FMAA in the years 2024, 2023, or 2022.
Access to Zone 3 will only be granted to participants authorized by the Organizing Committee. Conversely, participants can enter the other blocks starting from Zone 4, solely depending on their arrival time.
4.3. Parathlete Participants.
They must attach a certified document or medical diagnosis with the signature, professional ID, and seal of the professional who issued it, verifying the disability.
Wheelchair athletes must participate with a helmet and display their official number on the back of their chair in a visible location.
Total blind and visually impaired athletes must run blindfolded and tethered to their respective guide from the start, during, and until the end of the race. They have the option to make only one guide change, solely at kilometer 10 of the route, which they must inform at the time of registration. If they are forced to make any guide changes after registration, they must notify the judges on the event day in the warm-up area. Both participants must wear their official number and bib on their chest.
Athletes with bilateral hearing impairment and a decibel equal to or greater than 55 in both ears must wear their runner's number and the "Deaf" bib provided by the Organizing Committee on their chest.
5. Registrations.

- Sports Expo for the International Guadalajara Half Marathon, subject to availability.
There is a maximum capacity for 21,000 registrations, and each registration will have a recovery fee of:
- $350.00 (three hundred fifty Mexican pesos with 00/100) per person once this call is published until Sunday, November 5, 2023.
- $490.00 (four hundred ninety Mexican pesos with 00/100) per person from Monday, November 06, to Saturday, February 24, 2024, or until registrations are exhausted.
At the time of payment, a commission for bank charges may be added according to the platforms used by the participant.
No recovery fee for the following athletes:
- For 150 athletes aged 60 and older, as of the day of the event, from the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, presenting a printed request and a copy at the offices of the Municipal Sports Council of Guadalajara, from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 15:00 hours before Saturday, February 17, 2024. Addressed to the Director General of the Municipal Sports Council of Guadalajara, attaching a copy of INAPAN, INE, or a valid passport. Follow-up will be done through the email adulto.mayor@comudeguadalajara.gob.mx.
- For 150 athletes aged 60 and older, as of the day of the event, from the interior of the state and the Mexican Republic, sending a request before Saturday, February 17, 2024, addressed to the Director General of the Municipal Sports Council of Guadalajara, attaching a copy of INAPAM, INE, or a valid passport. Follow-up will be done through the email adulto.mayor@comudeguadalajara.gob.mx.
- For 200 Parathletes, categories: I Wheelchair athletes, J Total blind and visually impaired athletes, and K Athletes with bilateral hearing impairment and a decibel equal to or greater than 55 in both ears, requesting in writing before Saturday, February 17, 2024, addressed to the Director General of the Municipal Sports Council of Guadalajara and proving permanent disability through a certificate or medical diagnosis with the signature and seal of the professional who issued it. Follow-up will be done through the email paratleta@comudeguadalajara.gob.mx.
- For 100 Elite Athletes, requesting registration before Saturday, February 17, 2024, and demonstrating having times endorsed by World Athletics to compete in labeled events, as well as all athletes authorized by FMAA. Follow-up will be done through the email atleta.elite@comudeguadalajara.gob.mx.
- To all athletes assigned as special guests by the Organizing Committee.
Registration reassignment to another person is allowed with an additional cost of 50% of the current registration value, with a deadline of Saturday, February 24, 2024. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for the reliability, truthfulness, and/or suitability of registrations made through third parties, nor does it assume any obligation regarding availability and/or price.
6. Number Pickup.
Numbers will be handed out exclusively at the Sports Expo for the International Guadalajara Half Marathon on Friday, February 23, and Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. The venue will be announced in a timely manner through official media channels.
Requirements:
- The official number will be handed over only to the participant since this process is personal. Participants must show the QR confirmation code received via email at the corresponding module. Additionally, they need to present a valid official photo ID, which can be in printed or digital form.
Each properly registered athlete will receive the following:
- Official number with chip.
- A commemorative event garment.
- Items from our official sponsors.
Please note:
- Numbers will not be issued to those who do not meet the requirements set by the Organizing Committee.
- Numbers will not be distributed on the day of the event.
7. Awards.
Athletes with an official competition number who complete the certified and homologated route will be awarded a commemorative medal.
The total economic prize money in Mexican pesos will be $1,860,000.00 (ONE MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND PESOS 00/100 M.N.). It will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2024, in the form of a nominative check, redeemable at a banking institution once the official results are confirmed until 12:00 hours. Athletes who do not collect their awards on the event day must visit the central offices of the Municipal Sports Council of Guadalajara, located at Nevado de Toluca No. 100, between Av. de los Maestros and Siete Colinas, Colonia Independencia, inside Unidad Deportiva N°12 "Independencia." The hours for collection are from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, with a deadline of Friday, April 26, 2024. Participants must present a valid photo ID.

For the first female athlete who manages to beat the established record time of 01:08:53, set by Afera Godfay Bertha (Ethiopia). $40,000.00 (forty thousand pesos with 00/100 MXN)
For the first male athlete who manages to beat the established record time of 01:01:03, set by Yasin Haji Hayato (Ethiopia). $40,000.00 (forty thousand pesos with 00/100 MXN)
According to the Statutes and Regulations of the WA Label Road Races Regulations in the section "Athletes Contribution and publication of Prize Money," a levy of 2% will be applied to the gross prize money published before penalties and taxes for the top 5 classified athletes in both genders. This rate represents the elite athletes' contribution to the WA's anti-doping fund.
In accordance with the statutes and regulations of the FMAA, specifically the Regulations for the Issuance of Endorsement for Track, Road, and Cross-Country Races, in Article 45, Section X, Subsection a), all cash prize winners, whether by category or special awards, will have a 7% deduction for nationals and 14% for foreigners from their total prize money. Therefore, all prize winners must prove their affiliation by presenting a valid credential from the Federated Sports Registration System. In the case of elite athletes residing abroad or in Mexico, they may participate with the right to prizes by presenting the endorsement from their country of origin and authorized by the FMAA. Athletes who do not meet these requirements may participate with the right to the services provided by the Organizing Committee except for cash prizes.
Regarding the cash awards for the top five overall winners in both genders, as well as the recipients of special awards for Mexicans, residents of Jalisco, and the award for the best record, they will be granted after receiving the doping results. The payment will be delivered to the athlete or an authorized representative through a simple power of attorney duly signed, via bank deposit once the required information is provided to the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee will demand the full restitution of cash prizes from any athlete if the WA annuls their sports results due to a doping sanction in the specific controls of the race. Any athlete or WA Manager accepting a cash prize in the XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA® automatically accepts this regulation.
Regardless of the addresses of the parties, any disputes that may arise will be resolved in accordance with Mexican laws and with express submission to the courts and tribunals of the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco.
8. Judging.
It will be assigned and endorsed by the FMAA.
To obtain timely and accurate official results, various manual and electronic records will be used, including disposable chips, videos, and those determined by the Organizing Committee. Any protest must be made at the Technical Information Center (CIT) following the established process in the current Technical Regulations of the WA, Article 8 (Rule 146).
An appeals jury will be established according to the current Competition Regulations of the WA, Article 12 (Rule 119), consisting of a minimum of three members and forming the technical committee.
The technical committee, exclusively for elite athletes and/or their representatives, will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 18:00 hours, at the host hotel. The decisions made in this meeting will be official regulations that must be applied and respected.
9. Obligations and Disqualifications.
- It is the participant's obligation to be familiar with the route of the XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL GUADALAJARA ELECTROLIT® HALF MARATHON 2024 NOURISHED BY GRANVITA®.
- The athlete is obligated to verify that their registration details are correct, as well as the proper functioning of the chip, at the corresponding stand located at the Sports Expo for the International Guadalajara Half Marathon.
- The official number with the chip must be placed on the chest for technical and safety reasons; failure to do so may result in disqualification.
- Unauthorized vehicles are prohibited from accessing the course.
- Running accompanied by pets is prohibited.
REASONS FOR DISQUALIFICATION:
- Providing false or incorrect personal information during registration.
- Any form of alteration to the assigned official number or control chip.
- Misusing the assigned official number, such as giving it to another runner or receiving someone else's, is grounds for disqualification, as the official number is personal and non-transferable.
- Using a duplicated number.
- Wearing the official number incorrectly, which should be placed at chest height, visible and unfolded.
- Cutting the route or not completing the entire course.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior.
Disqualified runners will not be entitled to any awards.
10. Protests.
Protests must be submitted at the Technical Information Center (CIT) following the process outlined in the current technical regulations of the WA, Article 8 (Rule 146), within 30 minutes after the official results are published. The protest must be in writing and delivered to the chief judge through the CIT located in the recovery area after the finish line.
11. Anti-Doping Control.
In compliance with the fifth paragraph of the In-competition Anti-Doping Tests section of the WORLD ATHLETICS ROAD RACE LABELS-REGULATIONS of the WA, the Organizing Committee will conduct anti-doping tests with laboratories recognized by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Athletes selected for testing must comply with the instructions of the Doping Officer and their assistants, under the supervision of the FMAA.
If an athlete designated for testing fails to comply or refuses, they will be disqualified, losing any right to potential prizes that may be due to them.
12. Medical Services.
The Organizing Committee will provide medical assistance coverage at the start, during the course, and at the finish line according to the regulations established in the current Competition Regulations of the WA.
The Organizing Committee assumes no responsibility for personal injuries, infections, property damage, or any other harm incurred by participating in or witnessing the race. It also recommends regular medical check-ups and one prior to the competition.
Medical points and ambulances will be set up along the course. Additionally, there will be groups with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Each athlete is entitled to personal accident insurance, valid from 00:01 on Sunday, February 25, 2024, until 23:59 on the same day. The athlete must fill out the back of the number with their name, last name, emergency contact number, any medical issues such as allergies, special needs, etc., or under any specific treatment, as well as their blood type. All attendees must follow the instructions issued by the health, safety, and civil protection authorities of both the State Government of Jalisco and the city of Guadalajara.
