My Story…
Distress Centres of Greater Toronto is hosting their third annual Walk to End Suicide on Saturday, September 7th. The goals of the Walk are to
- raise awareness about suicide
- memorialize the people we have already lost to suicide
- reduce stigma surrounding mental health and illness
- raise critically needed funds to support life affirming programs
DCGT provides timely crisis intervention for people in distress as well as peer support for survivors of suicide loss. Their programs were a lifeline to me during the darkest times I faced after losing our precious Angie. It's so hard to believe we've already lived through a year without Ang.
I'm hoping to raise $150 for the Walk and appreciate any donation you're able to make.
Much love and gratitude,
Nathan
Description
Thank you for your generous support of our third annual Walk to End Suicide event. Since we launched this event in 2022, we have been overwhelmed by the support our community has shown in supporting our critically needed, free mental health programs and services.
This event shines a light on World Suicide Prevention Day (Tuesday September 10, 2024) and continues to highlight action that will help reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally, along with continuing to de-stigmatize mental health.
Though the event is just one day, your support resonates every day for those in need.
Thanks again,
Robert Ridge
