EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce invites you to “come out of your shells” and join the fun of the 23rd Annual Stone harbor Turtle Trot 5K Race and Two-Mile Fun Walk!
The Turtle Trot has become a Memorial Day Weekend tradition for many runners, families and beach-loving outdoor enthusiasts! Stone Harbor's beautiful Diamondback Terrapins crossing the town’s roads in search of an area to nest inspired the name of our race, and we will, once again, be donating a portion of our proceeds to the Diamond Terrapin Program at The Wetlands Institute.
New this year, the Turtle Trot 5K run is included in the USATF NJ Grand Prix Running Series! So for all of you USATF Grand Prix participants, please come out and join us (and earn points towards your 2024 totals).

We encourage everyone to get involved by joining the race or walk, volunteering at the event or cheering on the participants as a spectator.
Contrary to its name, the Turtle Trot is a fast course through Stone Harbor’s scenic, residential neighborhoods. Prizes will be awarded to the top three men and the top three women to place in the 5k Race. In addition, the top three men and top three women in six different age categories will also take home medals. Awards will be available to pick up at the Chamber of Commerce in the afternoon of race day following the results posting.
The Fun Walk is an untimed, non-competitive event that is suitable for the entire family.
All registered runners and walkers will receive a coveted Turtle Trot t-shirt (while supplies last!) Make sure to register early!
*Event is rain or shine. There are no refunds in the event the race is cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
RESULTS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT ON RACEROSTER AS WELL AS LINKED TO THE STONE HARBOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FACEBOOK PAGE...
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
Our race will begin at 8:00am. The 2-mile fun walk will begin at 8:05am.
Race day registration and pre-registered runner check-in begins at 6:45 a.m. at the Lifeguard Shack Parking Lot on 95th Street and the beach, with the 5k Race commencing at 8 a.m. and the Fun Walk beginning just five minutes later.
Please arrive promptly to allow for adequate time to stow anything pre-race in your vehicle or with a family member ie. race day t-shirts, extra clothing, etc.
