Grouse Mountain's Seek the Peak is back!
This year’s race will take place on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 and will help raise funds for Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation.
The challenging 16km course starts by the beach at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, winds its way through North Vancouver, then heads up the legendary Grouse Grind to The Peak of Vancouver.
With an awe-inspiring 1,400m climb, Seek the Peak will test your fitness, stamina and overall mental toughness. Face the 16km course alone or tackle it in a team of 2-4, splitting up the four legs.
After the race, celebrate your achievement at our finish line party with DJ, BBQ, and activities and giveaways from our event sponsors!

Important Cupless Racing Announcement
As part of Grouse Mountain's wider sustainability initiatives, we're working to reduce waste at our events. This year, our race events will be going cupless, meaning we are eliminating the use of disposable cups at all aid stations. Aid Stations will be fully stocked to keep runners fueled and hydrated, however we ask that runners carry their own refillable hydration vessel.
*HydraPak SpeedCup Giveaway*
To celebrate this step towards more sustainable racing, we're giving away 100 HydraPak SpeedCups! SpeedCups will be available for purchase during registration, and will be free to the first 100 racers who add one to their order. HydraPak SpeedCups are a great re-usable alternative to disposable cups for those who do not wish to carry a bottle or hydration vest. They will also be available to purchase from the Seek the Peak store at a reduced rate for those who miss out on our giveaway.
Please note:
Registration fees, donations, and all other Seek the Peak store purchases, including training clinic, t-shirts, and SpeedCups, are non-refundable. Grouse Mountain reserves the right to reschedule or postpone any activities or programs.
Race Roster offers an enhanced refund protection program, available to purchase during registration. By enrolling in the enhanced refund program, your registration purchase will be refunded if you are unable to attend due to the refundable reasons listed. Refund claims are made through Race Roster directly.

Introducing our Seek the Peak Trainer, Mariève Legrand
I am thrilled to be back for the 2024 edition of Seek the Peak! I have had the privilege of leading the training program for this race since 2015, and am so excited to be a part of it once again.
I work as an Occupational Therapist, am a mum of 2, and do my best to balance life’s demands with as much fresh air and time on trails as possible. Running has always been a big part of my life, as a way to push my limits and generally recharge my head and body. It has given me so many great memories as well as many new friendships.
Through this training program, I look forward to sharing my passion for running through these beautiful north shore trails, as well as seeing everyone challenge – and likely surprise – themselves. I love setting goals and sharing tips, and hope that many of you will join us as we tackle this amazing course, from the shores of Ambleside all the way up to the peak of Grouse!

Course Description:
Leg 1: Ambleside Beach to Capilano Pacific Trail
Racers kick off Seek the Peak at scenic Ambleside Beach, heading east before following the Capilano Pacific Trail north. Racers are directed up to Keith Road via a connector trail, after which an 800m run takes them to the end of Leg 1.
Leg 2: Capilano to the base of the Grouse Grind
Due to a closure on a portion of the Capilano Pacific Trail, the start of this section of the Seek the Peak course has been re-routed for this year’s race. After the re-routed section, racers will re-join the Capilano Pacific trail, continuing north before arriving at Capilano Dam via the Palisades Trail. From there, it’s out onto Nancy Greene Way and the one-mile climb to the base of Grouse Mountain.
Leg 3: The Grouse Grind
This stage of the race starts just below the gates of the world-famous Grouse Grind trail and follows the steep and mountainous 2,830 steps to the plateau of Grouse Mountain
Leg 4: Top of the Grouse Grind to the Peak of Vancouver
Racers cut across the 1km of grassy plateau of Grouse mountain to reach the base of the Peak, where they will ascend straight up following what is known as Heaven’s Sake ski run during the winter months. Upon reaching the peak, racers will have a moment to take in the breathtaking views of the city below, before running back down to the finish line.

Our recommendation is to park at Grouse Mountain and take the complimentary shuttle to the start line.
Complimentary shuttle: Buses will operate from Grouse Mountain to Ambleside Park and between Ambleside Park and Checkpoint 1. The majority of racers will be taking the complimentary shuttle, so we strongly recommend that you plan to arrive early to account for any shuttle waits due to capacity.
Grouse Mountain: Regular parking rates apply
Ambleside: There is limited parking available at Ambleside Beach. Please note that there is no shuttle back to Ambleside from Grouse Mountain after the race. Racers are responsible for getting back to the start if they have parked there.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE: There will be no parking permitted north of Klee Wyck Park on Keith Road (200m from Checkpoint #1). Parking in the Checkpoint 1 area is not recommended due to very limited space. Any cars must park 200 metres away and walk in to Checkpoint 1.
