Welcome to the 118th Edition of the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races.
The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races will be held on Monday August 5, 2024. We are proud to continue our tradition of being one of the longest running events in the Halifax/Dartmouth Natal Day Festival.
This prestigious event is also one of the oldest road races in North America.
Competitive runners, recreational runners and walkers are all encouraged to participate. We take pride in being a fun and affordable event for the entire family.
The 2024 race will start and finish near Christ Church on Ochterloney Street and follow our traditional 2 mile loop course around Sullivan's Pond & Downtown Dartmouth.
Both races have been selected for the 2024 Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series.
The 6 Mile race is part of the 2024 Run Nova Scotia Performance Series.

Much of the course is open to traffic but is well controlled by police and course marshals for your safety.
After 9:30 AM we may lose some police support and traffic will be heavier as the number of participants on the course declines.
If it will take you more than 1 hour to complete the course, please keep to the side of the road and be cautious, particularly for the last mile along Portland St and Alderney Dr. The finish line will remain open until at least 9:45 AM.
Race Course Rules
Participants should make their way to the start line 10 minutes prior to the start time.
Please consider your expected pace and place yourself accordingly. Not everyone can be at the front.
Please keep as close to the right side as possible to allow faster runners to pass.
Dogs are not permitted on the course, with the exception of certified service dogs. They are welcome as spectators.
If you are running the 2 mile race, cross to the left side of the road as you approach the finish line.
If you are running the 6 mile race, keep to the right as you pass the finish area after laps 1& 2 and move to the left side as you approach the finish line on your 3rd lap.
