The Sarah Beckett Memorial Run is a 5km run and walk in honour of fallen RCMP officer Cst. Sarah Beckett who was killed in the line of duty on April 5, 2016. The 2024 event will take place on Sunday, May 12th, 2024, starting and finishing at the Starlight Stadium plaza area, next to the Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground.
The registration cost will include a finishers medal. There will not be a new technical run shirt for the 2024 event but there are still shirts from our previous events available for purchase! Go to our website to purchase a shirt (https://www.sarahbeckettmemorialrun.com/sbmr-merchandise)
A virtual event will also be available for those who do not live in the Greater Victoria and West Shore area. You are able to run and walk anywhere then please share a photo on our social media pages using #runforbeckett!
For the virtual event:
To guarantee that you receive your race package on time and you live
outside of Vancouver Island, you must register by April 9th, 2024
To guarantee you receive your race package on time and you live
on Vancouver Island, you must register by April 28th, 2024
The money raised will go toward two wonderful organizations: BGC South Vancouver Island (formerly the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria) and the Goldstream Food Bank.
Registration closes online at 10 pm (PST) on May 11th, 2024. Participants are able to register in person between 8am and 9am on the morning of the event at the registration tent.

Cancellation and Fee Policy
- Online registration for local event and virtual event will close at 10:00pm on May 11, 2024.
- GST will be added to your registration at checkout.
- A processing fee will be applied at checkout.
- VISA, Mastercard and Amex accepted.
- Your credit card statement will show a charge from "Race Roster" for your registration into this event.
- Your registration includes: finishers medal.
- There are no refunds, transfers or deferrals.
- Race cancellation due to an act of nature or other factors beyond the control of organizers, no refunds or transfers will be possible.
- Race Roster provides online registration for the Sarah Beckett Memorial Run
- The Sarah Beckett Memorial Run is not responsible for any liability for participants in the Virtual event. Those who registered for the Virtual event are responsible for their own personal safety while exercising.
