Join us in bringing our community, family & friends together to celebrate the life of Richard Sheltra and raise money to support his foundation. We want to honor and recognize him for his commitment and dedication to our community.
Richard laid down his life while battling a multi-alarm fire in Pineville on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Please come out and show your appreciation and support for Pineville's fallen hero, who paid the ultimate sacrifice! Proceeds from this event benefits the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation which provides resources, equipment and scholarships for volunteer first responders. These were areas of great concern and empathy for Richard.
Walkers are welcome in the 5K and 10K event. The time limit for the 10K is 1:45. In order to comply with the agreement with the City of Charlotte, streets comprising the route must be reopened to vehicular traffic on a set schedule.

- There are NO refunds for this race if you did not enroll in the Refund Protection Program. Click here for transfer instructions.
- Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions
- Registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to "Acts of God".
Weather Policy
Races are held, rain or shine, unless EMS determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day by EMS and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, EMS reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
