One week before my 40th birthday, I received a phone call saying, “You have breast cancer.” Shock, Denial, Anger, Sadness and Confusion– These words do not even begin to describe the flood of emotions that bombarded my body in the days and weeks after that phone call. Thankfully, I had a friend who introduced me to Faith Through Fire. Having a survivor mentor that walked the journey of treatments with me, was an unbelievable comfort. I also found a huge amount of support by listening to their podcast, Besties with Breasties. My daily walks of listening to the podcast turned into what felt like sitting down with two friends that had walked a similar path. I found many resources from the podcast that improved my quality of life during and after treatments. Faith Through Fire’s mission is to reduce the fear and anxiety that breast cancer patients feel and replace it with hope and a path toward thriving. I love, love, love Faith Through Fire.
