My Story…
You may recall last year I did RAGBRAI, a rolling, rollicking ride across Iowa. I had so much fun that, by year's end, I realized I needed a new goal for 2024. Well guess what? I decided to face my demon that is climbing and signed up for Tour de Wyoming — six days, 315 miles, 19k of climbing — starting next week, EEEK! And of course, the Venus de Miles on August 24, which will be my 16th.
If you've been following me on Facebook, you'll know I've been training hard and doing all the rides that I thought I would NEVER do: McClure Pass, Lookout Mountain, Ward, Super James (including the washboard-y gravel part!). You and I know the chances of success increase with hard work and determination. But what about high-performing kids who are unable to realize their potential because they can't afford to go to college? On top of that is the fact that fewer kids (and their parents) are finding college worthwhile because of the cost and debt that come with it. And then think about what that means for our society in the coming years.
Would you please show your support for me with a donation to help deserving students who dream of going to college? Every dollar raised helps to inspire and support under-resourced, under-privileged, often first-generation kids with huge potential to change the trajectory of their lives, their families, and their communities.
Thank you for giving me and these kids a helping hand to get us up and over that hill!
Big hugs,
