Could the colour powder affect my eyes or breathing?
Our non-toxic, heavy metal-free colour powder is made from cornstarch and food-safe dyes. Protective eyewear and mouth coverings are optional.
What about participating while pregnant?
We advise consulting your doctor. Although our powder is non-toxic, extra precautions like wearing sunglasses and a bandana over your nose and mouth in colour zones are recommended.
Are children allowed to participate?
Children can join the fun, provided they can manage the course distance. Due to the course's inclines and forested trails, we suggest a minimum age of four. However, our event is about enjoyment, allowing parents to proceed leisurely with their younger ones. Additionally, we offer a 1 km paved path through Santa's Village.
FAQ: Can children under four join the colour fun run?
Children under four are welcome to join for free and without registration. However, navigating strollers on uneven, hilly trails might be challenging.
Additionally, on June 15 only, children aged three and under get free park entry with a registered adult.
What is the minimum age for solo participation?
Participants must be 13 years old to join without a parent or guardian.
Can I bring a stroller?
Yes, strollers and wagons are permitted, but be prepared for them to become colourful. And remember that most of the course is a lightly forested trail with elevation.
Are pets allowed?
For safety reasons, pets are not allowed on the Colour Run course.
Can I bring cameras and phones into Colour Zones?
To ensure their safety, it is suggested that you cover your devices with protective dust wraps. The Santa's Village Colour Run assumes no liability for damaging your personal property.
Will my clothes and shoes return to their original state?
Our dye is designed to be washable, though we suggest wearing items you're not too attached to. The earlier you wash them, the better.
Can the colour dust be washed out of my hair?
Yes, the colour dust is designed to be washable from hair. Lighter hair or damp conditions may require a bit of leave-in conditioner as a preventive measure.
Preparation tips for the day:
- Hair: Applying a leave-in conditioner beforehand can help protect your hair, especially under humid conditions.
- Clothing: Wear items you're okay with getting colourful. Shake off the excess powder before washing.
- Gear: Dusting off your equipment thoroughly before cleaning is advisable to prevent lingering colour.
What should I wear?
Bright white is recommended to showcase the explosion of colours, but feel free to accessorize vibrantly. Get creative with themes, crazy socks, sunglasses, or tutus! We are providing a white Colour Run T-shirt for each participant.
What food and beverage options are available?
During park hours, guests can enjoy dining and refreshments at Santa's Village. After the colour run, a barbecue will be held, with all proceeds benefiting the Children's Foundation of Muskoka.
