Help Sarah raise money

Still tough to grasp that 1,132 days ago I was diagnosed with stage 4B ovarian cancer. Surreal in so many ways…man, a lot has happened over that time. 

Even though so many things have changed and occurred over those 3+ years, I have remained steadfast: in my focus on beating this disease, in the strength I didn’t realize I had, in my positive attitude and deep love of life, in my gratitude for the inspiring support so many of you have given me, in my plain ol’ Sarah stubbornness, and, finally, in my unwavering belief that my diagnosis must have both personal and far-reaching positive effects.

Regarding the far-reaching positive effects of my cancer, I’m passionately committed to spreading awareness and helping others, especially through the life-affirming, life-saving non-profit, Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance/COCA, an organization that provides education, support groups, insurance help, financial aid, and more. They’ve done so much for me and people I’ve come to love; it’s the least I can do to pay it forward and it feels good knowing I’m making a difference. 

I’m humbly and gratefully counting on you to support me again with Jodi’s Race, a fun, inspirational, kick-ass 5K race/fundraiser in support of COCA and its wonderful programs.

You can help me in a number of ways: (1) join my team, Sarah’s Team F* Cancer, and walk (or run! or prance!) with us on Saturday, June 8th in City Park; (2) donate to my team; (3) pass along this link for others to donate; (4) do all of the above, as some are doing.

Jodi’s Race is always inspirational, encouraging, and fun. TV networks and other media will be there and of course Sarah’s Team F* Cancer will be bangin’ tunes, rockin’ ridiculous costumes, eating some good food, and partaking in shenanigans.

I’m extremely excited for this year's event and am determined to complete the entire 5K, even in light of my progressing cancer that has affected me lately in so many ways with pain and discomfort.

I am BEYOND grateful to have such an amazing support system such as you all — I can’t wait to see how much we’ll raise this year, which is the 15th year anniversary of this amazing event!
