Awesome Twosome 5K - To be paired with another runner, choose a team name and you and your partner register under that name!
You and your partner each run/walk a 5k distance in opposite directions! Give a high five as you pass each other along the way!
Finisher items
- 1 of 5 beautiful hand-crafted art medals (complete your set if you've participated in R4YC before!)
- If you have completed 5 or more R4YC events, select a new medal that will be revealed on race day

Awesome Twosome 5K:
This event is unique in that you have a partner! Age groups are determined by adding your ages together, and awards are based on your combined time. Run 4 Your Cause will recognize top finishers in the following age categories: 25 & under, 26-69, 70-104, 105-139, 140 & over Men, Women & Mixed. Individual times will be recorded, but it's so much more fun to run as a team!
3.3K:
All participants receive an individual time and a medal of their choice! Run 4 Your Cause will recognize the top three finishers overall for men, women & non-binary.
Fundraisers:
Prizes and recognition will be awarded to the top fundraisers - get your custom fundraising page set up!
Can't make it in-person on June 7th? You can still Run 4 Your Cause and participate at a time and location of your choosing (between June 1-15), and then submit your results to us! Find step-by-step instructions here.
Virtual participants are invited to pick up their finisher item (or have a friend grab it for you) at bib pickup, on race day, or we can mail it to you for a $5 postage fee (choose this option at registration).

The 5K Awesome Twosome and Try 3.3K start and finish at the same location in the parking lot of CMU's north campus at 500 Shaftesbury Blvd.

5K route description:
Begin in the parking lot of CMU and turn right onto the asphalt Active Transport (AT) path at the end of the driveway that parallels Shaftesbury Blvd. Turn right at the corner of Shaftesbury and Grant Ave, continuing on the asphalt AT path heading west along Grant. At approximately the 1K mark the AT path curves right -- 5K participants should continue straight on the sidewalk (marshals will be in place to guide you). Turn right onto Chalfont Rd, where the route is on the side of the not-busy street (note: streets are not closed but course marshals will be in place to direct you). At the end of Chalfont turn right onto the AT path along Robin Blvd, and right again at the corner of Roblin and Shaftesbury. Turn into the CMU driveway and finish in the same place you started. Your partner will run the same route, but in the opposite direction.
Try 3.3K route description:
Begin in the parking lot of CMU and turn right onto the asphalt Active Transport (AT) path at the end of the driveway that parallels Shaftesbury Blvd. Turn right at the corner of Shaftesbury and Grant Ave, continuing on the asphalt AT path heading west along Grant. At approximately the 1K mark the AT path curves right - 3.3K participants should follow the AT path and head into the Assiniboine Forest (marshals will be in place to guide you). Follow the AT path through the forest and then turn right onto the AT path along Robin Blvd, and right again at the corner of Roblin and Shaftesbury. Turn into the CMU driveway and finish in the same place you started.
