We all face unavoidable setbacks- injury, life stuff, pregnancy, other health concerns.
Sometimes this makes chasing a PB-level performance impossible for a period of time...but does that mean we should stop striving for something? NO!
The fastest way to getting back to your best is by making the most of what's in front of you. That's where this race comes in. The concept is simple:
WHAT IT IS:
(1) Acknowledge and evaluate your current setback.
(2) Choose a legitimately challenging but realistic 8K goal given the circumstances (i.e. running 8K at old marathon pace). This MUST be a time-based goal.
(3) Sign-up telling us about your challenge and goal- this must be declared before the race (but can be kept confidential from the group).
(4) Do the 8K with us on MAY 4th at 9:00AM, and record your result here. There is a Strava segment, but this is a self-timed event.
PRIZES:
If you hit your personal goal, you get a prize! Full details TBA.
COURSE:
We're using 2x our classic 4K loop HERE for the official event. This will be lined up with our H+P This May Be Loopy Challenge as they start their 3rd loop- this will be a nice way to support them and cheer them on as we do our own thing at the same time!
