What’s the goal of this year’s Gaza 5K?
We aim to raise $1,000,000 by March 5 to directly employ UNRWA counselors in Gaza. These counselors will provide refugee students with individual and group counseling sessions. The more you raise, the more we can do!
Fundraising is the key to our efforts and impact. Check out these fundraising perks to encourage you to be at the top of your fundraising game.
What does my Gaza 5K fundraising do?
Your fundraising can enable UNRWA to employ mental health counselors recruited locally from the Palestine refugee population. UNRWA counselors provide psychosocial support to address the mental health needs of refugee children and families in Gaza. The people of Gaza are suffering from acute trauma due to unprecedented and intense Israeli military assaults on their families and homes. Counseling offers kids in Gaza a safe space to express their emotions, grief, and fears and a way to learn critical coping skills.
