My Story…
On Friday, June 28th, 2024, I will participate in the #GetREAL5K #RainbowRoad5K to support a cause that resonates deeply with me.
Today in Canada members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community are still being kicked out of their homes. Some are rejected by their families and friends.
This treatment has caused many of us to hide and cover who we are. It impacts our mental health and can sometimes even lead to suicide. All due to the hate, rejection, and loneliness. I know this because society had taught me to hate myself to my core. It has taken decades for me to be comfortable in my skin and love who I am.
I am an advocate for our 2SLGBTQ+ community. I want others to know they are not alone. That there is someone in their corner, who will stand up for them, fight for them, hold their hand, and show them, love.
