Benefits
Delaware School for the Deaf on-site educational programs Mission Statement: The mission of the Delaware School for the Deaf, a program serving Deaf and hard of hearing students K -21 years of age, is to educate students with rigorous achievement standards, to develop their linguistic competence in both ASL and English, and to prepare them to be contributing citizens, by providing access to language and information in a safe and supportive learning environment. Its a common misconception that families with children of varying hearing levels must choose a single language with which to communicate and learn. Delaware School for the Deaf provides a safe and supportive learning environment in order to set the foundation for linguistic competence in both American Sign Language and English. |
