Elemental Summer 5K!

Join us on August 24, 2024, at 8:00 am for the Elemental Race Timing Summer 5K.

Hosted and timed by Elemental Race Timing, this event promises to be a fun outing for runners of all skill levels. Your 5K journey through the greenery of Peaks View Park will take you down a paved trail over fast flats with a few gentle hills.

All participants will receive a high-quality Elemental Summer 5K shirt.

AWARDS
The overall and age group winners will receive an Elemental Race Timing mug and award to celebrate their victory. Sip your morning coffee or evening tea with a reminder of your hard-earned triumph.

Top 3 overall, men and women.

Top (1) masters, male and female.

Top (1) age group male and female: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Peaks View Park is Lynchburg's second-largest park, offering passive and active recreation for the entire family.

This is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the large shelter. It is on the Ivy Creek Greenway, a paved asphalt path through Peaks View Park.

RACE DAY RULES

• The race number must be worn on the front and always visible.
• Follow the Ivy Creek Greenway to the turnaround, which is the end of the paved trail.
• Communicate and be courteous when passing or being passed.
• Be courteous to the staff and volunteers. They are here to make it a great race for you.
• Headphones are permitted, but please ensure you can hear the other runners and the staff.
• Dogs are permitted, but they must be leashed the entire time per park rules.
• The trail is not closed, so be aware of others on the Ivy Creek Greenway.
• If you drop out, please let us know.
