- Are you interested in trying a 3 or 6 hour trail event?
- Wanna know how far you can go in 3 or 6 hours?
- If so, help us raise money for the Centreville Community Park that’s been supporting our community since 1977, while testing your endurance in a beautiful, natural environment, at the Picture Me In A Tree 3 or 6 Hour Trail Run Or Walk.
- Funds raised will go towards rebuilding the Gazebo that was destroyed by a fallen tree in November 2023.
- If more money is raised than needed for this improvement it will be put towards additional Centreville Community Park projects, to benefit our community.
Limited field: Limited to the first 60 participants to register.
Registration Fee: $85.00
Event Course:
- 75% shaded trail with approximately 50 % fine gravel and 25% natural trail and 25% groomed grass field.
- Course Measurement: Each 500 meter section of the loop, will be clearly marked, for the entirety of the event, for your convenience.
- Elevation gain/loss: Each 2.5 km loop has an elevation gain/loss of approximately 11 meters, making this a very flat and fast course. The infamous Road runner should be aware, “beep beep”
lol.
Awards/Recognition:
- The overall Male, Female and Non-Binary participants will receive an additional award, and all participants that complete the following, will also receive:
- Personalized plaques:Just think, you could have a plaque waiting for you, with your name on it, when you finish… how’s that for motivation!
- Note: You must be registered on or before August 28 to receive a customized name plate.
- 3 Hour Runners
- Bronze, 20 km - 25 km, 8 - 10 completed loops
- Silver, 27.5 km - 32.5 km, 11 - 13 completed loops
- Gold, 35 km or greater, 14 or greater completed loops
- 3 Hour Walkers
- Bronze, 10 km - 12.5 km, 4 - 5 completed loops
- Silver, 15 km - 17.5 km, 6 - 7 completed loops
- Gold, 20 km or greater, 8 or greater completed loops
- 6 Hour Runners
- Bronze, 35 km - 40 km, 14-16 completed loops
- Silver, 42.5 km - 50 km, 17-20 completed loops
- Gold, 52.5km or greater, 21 or greater completed loops
- 6 Hour Walkers
- Bronze, 20 km - 22.5 km, 8-9 completed loops
- Silver, 25 km - 27.5 km, 10-11 completed loops
- Gold, 30 km or greater, 12 or greater completed .
- 3 Hour Runners
- Note: You must be registered on or before August 28 to receive a customized name plate.
Event Day:
- Upon arrival all registered participants will receive a name tag and four safety pins instead of a traditional bib number, because we want to get to know you!
- This name tag must be worn for the duration of the event for multiple reasons.
- Your name tag will be required to receive your complimentary meal.
- Your name tag will be identified accordingly as either a runner or walker.
- Your name tag will be used to track your distance completed and determination of the award you will receive.
Event check in: 7:30 am - 8:55 am.
Event start/finish time: The 6 hour run and walk events will start at 9 am. The 3 hour events will start at 12 pm and both events will continue until 3 pm.
Parking:
- 95 parking spots available.
- We encourage participants to carpool to help alleviate traffic congestion.
Dogs or bikes :
- Due to the large volume of runners and/or walkers on the course, we cannot allow any dogs, on or off leash, or bicycles on the event course, during the event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
- All dogs must be on a leash, if in attendance with a spectator, during the event.
Lap recording:
- As participants complete a lap, they must come through their respective chute, under the 10 x 20 foot tent, to be recorded.
- Participants must slow down as they enter their applicable chute to ensure that their name and running time is accurately recorded, by our recording team.
- If you fall short on finishing a loop in the final minutes, that loop will not be included in your distance completed. Your last official completed loop will count towards your total distance achieved.
First Aid: There will be a staffed first aid station set-up at the start/finish area.
Washrooms:
- Full indoor washrooms available at the start/finish area.
- This building cannot be used as a changing area or to store any personal belongings.
- Both washrooms have two private stalls.
Aid Stations:
Personalized Aid Station
- Participants are welcome to bring their own cooler and folding chair and place it near the start/finish.
- The area will be a designated area and only 10 - 12 feet from the event course. If you choose this option, please let us know in advance, so that we can ensure the space is available for your convenience.
Super Aid Station
- There will be one aid station near the start finish area with Gatorade, water, bananas, pre-packaged candy, pre-packaged cookies and other snacks.
- Between 12 - 3 pm, we will provide chicken noodle soup, vegetable and beef broth
Cupless Event:
- In efforts to be environmentally friendly, and respectful to our beautiful Centreville Park, the fluids at the aid station will be in coolers with taps and its your responsibility to bring a water bottle/cup to refill.
- A volunteer will be available to assist in filling your cup or bottle.
No littering rule:
- We ask that all participants do their best to respect the park and not litter during the event.
- If a participant is caught intentionally littering, they will be disqualified from the event.
Garbage and recycling bins:
- These bins will be located at the start/finish area and halfway into the race course.
Reception Meal:
- Chef Scott Brown will be serving up:
- Hickory smoked beef brisket on a sourdough brioche bun (one per runner). or
- Portabella burgers, for vegetarians (one per runner),
- There will also be tasty side dishes along with cold bottled water and pop.
- There is no additional cost for your meal, it is included in your event entry fee and will not be available for purchase.
- Your name tag will be proof of your participation and entitlement to your meal.
- An option to choose for your meal choice will be available during your race roster registration.
Picture Me In A Tree Photo Option:
- Those who would like a picture of themselves in the hollow tree will have an opportunity to do it between 12 noon - 2pm while the racing field is spread out over the 2.5 km loop.
- We will have a photographer available.
- The hollow tree is located approximately 600 meters into the event.
- Photos are complimentary and will be emailed to participants upon request only.
- Additional name tags will be present at the hollow tree to identify your picture.
Refund Policy:
- Picture Me In A Tree 3 and 6 hour trail run or walk will be unable to issue 100% refunds.
- If weather is a main factor in having to cancel the event for safety reasons. We will try to make this determination by 12 noon the day before and notify all registered participants via email through a Race Roster message campaign.
- Participants would then have the option of
- having their event fee deferred 100% to the following year or a 50% refund less the original Race Roster transaction fee. We will work with Race Roster and give all participants a choice to

- Participants would then have the option of
Transfer of event
- If you are unable to participate and can notify us on or before August 7t h, we can manually make the switch to another person to save you on the Race Roster transfer fees, and you would be responsible for collecting any financials from those taking your event entry.
- The new participant taking your entry will have to sign an event waiver upon arriving to the event, prior to receiving their name tag.
