Thank you so much for joining our Remembering Randy team for the 2024 Independence Day Double Miles for Detection! We are excited to fundraise for Project Purple and a world without pancreatic cancer.
Early detection is so important with this disease. Recently, the 5-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer increased from 12 to 13%, which is good news. BUT...and it's a BIG BUT... 85% of pancreatic cancer patients are diagnosed at stage IV, which has a dismal 1-3% five-year survival rate, with most losing their battle within 1 year. My Dad survived for only 142 days after his diagnosis, despite treatment.
