Help Lisa raise money

For participating in Champions of Hope 2024

My Story…

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to have a team this year walking and/or running in my honor and for so many others who are or have been battling this thing we call breast cancer. It's because of research funded by events like this that I am on my way to kicking breast cancer right between the eyes!!

As most of you know, in the spring of this year, I was diagnosed with early stage triple negative breast cancer. Thinking I had a clear plan and that surgery would do the trick, I had a double mastectomy on July 1.  My pathology report came back without clear margins. Because of the location of my tumor, it wasn't possible to remove more tissue. Chemo and radiation were now on the table as the best path forward to "save my life" as Dr. McAlister said.  I recently completed my "red devil" treatments.  Praise the Lord!! Now, it's on to weekly Taxol treatments until the end of the year.  Radiation will follow in January.   I tell you all of this to say, if it wasn't for the extensive research that has gone into the treatment of breast cancer, I would be one of those that wouldn't live to see my grandchildren graduate from high school or college.  I have promised my granddaughter to watch her walk down the aisle with the love of her life.  I fully intend to keep that promise!!!

I hope each of you will consider joining team "Love Lisa" or donating as we raise awareness of the fight that affects 1 in 8 women. Any amount is a step toward a cure and will be greatly appreciated. See you on the flip side!!!!
