The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the country. Starting from humble beginnings in 1967 at White Rock Lake, it has grown into the undisputed "Dallas' Way to Start Thanksgiving Day".

The TIMED start takes off at 8:30 am or 9:00 am and will include an exclusive, timed Participant Corral for this 8 mile or 5K run/walk. Only timed participants will be allowed in this area prior to the 8:30 am start time. For the safety of other runners, NO DOGS OR STROLLERS will be allowed into the timed runner corral. You can still be timed, and your time will not start until you cross the start line, but we ask that you line up outside of the timed runner corral.

The Roost
The Roost
The Roost is a gathering place for families, runners, and walkers to fuel up before The Trot. Space will be limited, so don't wait! Purchase your pass to The Roost when you register and secure your spot!

The Roost - children ages six and younger are complimentary, children ages 7-12, $15 with the purchase of an adult ticket.
*21 and over: Be prepared to show your identification at any time it's requested by Turkey Trot volunteers, officials, security, or police officers. No refunds or exchanges will be issued for any reason.
Team Challenge - Timed 5K
- This new registration offering is great for corporations, families, friends and co-workers.
- Available in the TIMED 5K distance, the Team Challenge allows you to create a team during registration.
- Share your team name with others and they can join when they register.
- The number of participants on a team is unlimited, and the top 4 runners' times will count for team scoring. Each of the top 4 runner's times will be added together, and the fastest team will be deemed the winner!
- Team times and winners will be determined post-event. A complete list of team times will be displayed online. All individual times will be posted on race day shortly after the event.
Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot Costume Contest
Welcome to the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot Costume Contest, where creativity meets fitness! This year, we are looking for the most impressive, innovative, and hilarious costumes that will make us all want to gobble up some laughter! The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot Costume Contest is open to all event participants who love to have fun and don't mind showing off their silly side. So whether you're a turkey, pumpkin pie, or pilgrim, we want to see your unique twist on the traditional Thanksgiving-themed costume.
So, what's at stake? The 1st place winner will win a one-year family membership at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. In addition, the 2nd place winner will win a six-month family membership at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, and the 3rd place winner will win a three-month family membership at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
We'll also have a dog contest! So dress your furry friends to shine with you!
But the competition won't be easy. With so many creative minds in one place, you'll need to bring your A-game to stand out. Will you be the one to outdo last year's winner, who dressed up as a turkey riding a bike? To enter, simply opt-in during your race registration, and you're set! Our judges will be on the lookout for participants who go above and beyond in their creativity and execution. Don't forget to bring your running shoes, though – the costume contest is just the beginning of the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot experience.
And, even if you don't win the grand prize, you'll still have a chance to strut your stuff in front of thousands of spectators and fellow participants. You might even make it into the local news for having the most outrageous costume of the year! So, start brainstorming, gather your friends and family, and prepare to make a splash at the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot costume contest. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
