The Headingley Fire Department Run for Wishes is a sanctioned 5 km run. As a member of the Manitoba Runners Association youth series we use professional chip timing and offer a 3 km walk as well. The scenic route takes you over and along the Assiniboine River and through residential South Headingley. The run starts and finishes at the Headingley Fire Department and is followed by an awards ceremony and approximately 50 draw prizes. This event is perfect for elite runners to casual walkers and everyone in-between.
Headingley Fire Department held their first Run for Wishes in May of 2001. The number of participants were small and we had just a few sponsors. Over the past 22 years, our run has evolved and grown. We now host hundreds of runners and walkers and are now supported by over 40 sponsors.
Children's Rehabilitation Foundation and the Westgrove Family Resource Centre are the 2 main benefactors of this years event. Both organizations strive to make the lives of children safer, better and happier.
For youth participants we have 8 categories separated by grades. Grades 3 and under- 4-5-6-7-8-9/10-11/12. Medals for top 3 placings in both boys and girl categories. 1st place finishers also receive an Activate Games gift card!
All Run participants will receive a race package consisting of 2024 design t-shirt, race program, coupons, Raffle number for post race draws, chip timer.
Deadline to be listed in this years comparative race program is MAY 12th.
Deadline for registration to guarantee selected T-shirt size May 12th

Along with our brand new logo and t-shirt design for 2024, The program will list last years champions, current year registrants, as well as information about the history of our event. We will also acknowledge the many sponsors that make our event possible!
We have worked tirelessly to keep our registration fees low! Please help us support our 2024 charities and get the next generation of MRA runners going!
