My Story…
Lyla has been supported by Heart Beats. She has gone for 3 Open Heart Surgery’s. Her first heart surgery Lyla was only a week old. She needed her aorta arch repaired and 2 holes patched. After this surgery she got really sick with Ecoli sepsis in her blood and she spent a month in the hospital.
Lyla second heart surgery was in Feb 2023. Lyla heart had a curve near the arch that was repaired which cause a blood mass( scab tissue ) to grow and this needed to be removed to make the blood flow through the heart better. She ended up having a heart block and she had to get a permanent pacemaker put in. We went home and she grew and had a blast.
In Feb 2024 we found out that she needed to go for a Ross procedure and she needed her mitro valve repaired. This is a very aggressive surgery. They were hoping she wouldn’t need this until she was older but her heart had another idea. We went for surgery March 15. This surgery was a lot for Lyla, she ended up getting tubical pneumonia and a cold. She also had delirium(which is really scary to see as a parent). She’s doing better and we got sent home April 9th and have been home since healing and getting back to normal.
Thank you everyone for taking your time to read Lyla’s heart journey ❤️
