Walk A Mile In HER Shoes - Mountainview County

Mountain View Emergency Shelter and Cam Clark Ford in Olds are excited to announce Walk A Mile In HER shoes on June 15, 2024. This is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community and take a stand against domestic violence.

First You Walk the Walk

There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Walk A Mile asks men to literally walk one mile in women's high heeled shoes. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it's fun and it gets the community to talk about something that's really difficult to talk about: domestic violence.

The Walk A Mile in HER Shoes event is a pledge based, fundraising and public awareness campaign. The event features men who raise pledges, join together and literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes.

Get pumped and register for the Walk A Mile In HER Shoes event. It doesn't take much to make an impact. It takes a desire to make a difference, no matter how small.

Step 1: REGISTER

Join us in-person as an individual walker or create your own team, maybe challenge another business, friends or family to see who can raise the most pledges.

Join us on June 15, 2024 at Cam Clark Ford in Olds. We will be starting our morning off at 10:00 am, sign-in booths will be located outside the doors of the dealership. The walk will start at 11:00 am and head down main street to join the festivities of Summer Solstice in Olds, we will walk to the end of the road, circle back and return to Cam Clark Ford for a BBQ.

All proceeds will be going towards supporting the build of Kirsten's Place, opening at the end of 2024.
