Santa Run FAQ’s
-When is Santa Run 2024? - Saturday December 14, 2024
Activities begin at 8:00am and the 5K Santa Run will begin at 9AM.
-The 1Mile Elf Run will begin 10 minutes after the start of the 5K.
-Where does all the fun take place?
All activities will take place at the Railyard Park -455 S. College St in Waxahachie
-What do I receive with my race registration?
A Goodie Bag, your 5-piece Santa Suit, Finisher Medal, Access to the pre-& post run activities, milk and cookies at the
finish line and lots of great memories. If you are running as a Grinch, a mask will be provided as well.
-What Santa Suit sizes are available?
Adult and Children’s sizes from Youth Med. to XXXL. We encourage participants to order one size up
from their regular size as the suits do run small.
-Where is Packet Pickup?
Packet Pick-up Schedule is as Follows:
12/9-12/10 (Monday and Tuesday before the race) at the Waxahachie YMCA (During normal business hours)
12/11 - 3:00pm-7:00pm at Racquet and Jog Waxahachie
12/12 - 12:00pm-7:00pm at Racquet and Jog Waxahachie
12/13 - All Day, this will be in tandem with a sidewalk sale and a "shake out" run event for our Santa Runners.
Late pickup can be made on Friday at the Railyard Park from 5pm – 7pm or on Race
Day from 7:45 – 8:45am.
Can you pick up packets for a friend?
Every registrant needs to sign the event waiver, but if that’s been completed (through registration),
packets for friends can be picked up with information verified.
How are the races timed?
The YMCA Santa Run will be timed via an electronic chip. The Elf Run (1 Mile) is not a timed race. The
timing chip bib does not need to be returned.
What comes with the Santa Suit?
Pants, jacket, belt, a hat and beard…a full 5-piece Santa suit!
Are dogs allowed in the race?
Absolutely! Bring your mild-mannered dogs with you but make sure they are in full Christmas Spirit! A
Contest for “Best Dressed Pet” will be announced at the completion of the race.
Are baby strollers allowed in the race?
Strollers are encouraged. Generally, strollers line up near the rear of the pack for safety. A “Best
decorated stroller” trophy awaits you so fill them with glee!
How many water stations will be on the racecourse?
2 water stations and numerous route watchers will be on the course to assist you during your run.
Cookies, milk, bananas, and water will be provided at the finish line.
Will there be awards for the fastest runners?
Yes. Medals will be presented to the fastest runners by age group (16 groups) and will be available
approximately 20 minutes after the first finisher crosses the finish line.
Runners Must finish in their Santa Suits to be eligible for awards
What happens if it’s raining on race day?
In true Santa spirit, through Rain, Snow or Wind, if Santa says GO…the run is on!
Where is the best place to park?
Plenty of parking is available near Railyard Park, including the parking garage located on Jefferson
Street, the south lot off Cantrell and lots south of downtown. No parking permitted in the Fresh Market
lot or at Boyce Feed. Help us keep the streets clear to accommodate the runners and downtown
shoppers where possible. There is no charge to utilize the parking Garage.
