My Story…
As a Center for Hope team member, let me tell you firsthand why Race for Our Kids is an important fundraiser to this organization.
I am inspired daily by the work we do for survivors of acts of violence, including child abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking and exploitation, homicide, community violence and elder abuse. I have worked at Center for Hope for almost five years and understand how Center for Hope programs have helped people who are suffering from violence-related trauma find hope and healing. My children and I have suffered personally due to gun violence when my husband was killed several years ago in a senseless act of violence. I have firsthand experience as a homicide survivor and can fully appreciate the benefits our meaningful programs offer to community members who find themselves in the devastating position of being a homicide survivor.
This LifeBridge Health fundraiser, Race for Our Kids, holds a special place in my heart because Center for Hope is one of four LifeBridge Health entities that benefits from the funds raised. Any monies Center for Hope receives go directly into our unrestricted funds which enables us to use the money for much-needed programming and expenses not covered by grants and donations that come with restrictions.
No amount is too small to give. Thanks so much for your consideration! Be safe and well. And always remember HOPE MATTERS (the name of our team).
With gratitude,
Lori
