Our story…
In 2012 we lost our dad, Shawn, to suicide. He was the father everyone dreams of having. Every weekend we were either boating, camping, or at a hockey tournament. He never missed a hockey game (he even video taped every game), he went to every practice and to every horseback riding lesson. He loved his snowmobiles, atvs, his boat, and motorcycle, but above all his favourite thing was to be with his family and friends. We didn't think someone so happy and someone who genuinely lived life to the fullest was suffering so much but showed no signs of it. In Canada, everyday 11 families go through the same unimaginable situation our family went through 12 years ago. We have put this team together in his honour to show our dedication to breaking the cycle. Through this, we hope to help start conversations around mental health and suicide.
