Create for Kids 5k Run/Walk

The run has been MOVED from Al Lopez Park to Gadsden Park!!

Create for Kids Inc. is a certified non profit comprised of high school students all across the world. We raise money/donations for pediatric patients, their families, and for hospitals. Through this run we will donate all proceeds to Moffitt Cancer Research Center to further their research facility and help cancer patients pay for treatment. 100% of the funds raised from the Create for Kids 5k Run/Walk will be donated to Moffitt.

All ages are eligible to be registered.

Come join us in the fight against cancer at Gadsden Park on August 3rd, 2024! Registration will be open until August 2nd at 11:59 for all events and participants may buy tickets in person. If you register after July 26th, you will no longer receive a shirt!

It starts at 8:30, and we recommend all runners to get there by 8:00, so they have adequate time to get ready and sign in. Runners' registration is $30 and includes a commemorative t-shirt, and a meal! This is not an officially timed event!

Why Should You Donate?

The leading cause of death in kids 1-9 is cancer. Over 400,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year. All of these kids are below 6 years old, and their lives have been affected forever. With all the money allocated to cancer, only 4% of that is sectioned off to pediatric patients, whose treatment differs greatly in comparison to adults.

Many cancer patients undergo chemo which in total can cost over $250,000. Through this run and other fundraisers Create for Kids hopes to take part in lessening this cost with your help! Join us in our movement to make an impact on the local Tampa community.

Service Hours

Those who sign up for the 5K run/walk and participate in the event qualify to receive action hours, if you volunteer you qualify to receive service hours. Please see your high school's board representative to inquire how many hours you qualify for. If your school is not represented on the board, please see Sarah to ask how many hours you qualify for. Weather Cancellation Policy

We value runner safety. In the event of severe weather conditions, the director(s) reserve the right to cancel the race for the safety of its participants. Registrations cancelled due to inclement weather will not be refunded, but instead used to cover event costs, with the balance being treated as a charitable donation to the event beneficiary.


Conditions that may result in event cancellation include (but are not limited to): lightning, high winds, flooding, fires, tornados, and other acts we deem as dangerous.
