Help Patty raise money

For participating in 16th Annual Be Ovary Aware 5K run 3K walk

My Story…

On August 3, 2021 I was told I "likely" had stage 4 ovarian cancer and "likely" had no more than six months to live. Well, that doctor was only right about one thing: I had ovarian cancer. But the stage was 3C and I'm still alive and kickin', praise be to GOD!

This year I will be walking in the Annual Be Ovary Aware 5K. It's my 3rd year participating, an important annual event for me. I remember the 1st year I walked the 3K with Asha and, thanks to the side effects of chemo, it was all I could do to finish! I'm so grateful every year that I can do this!!!

As you probably know, ovarian cancer is a nasty silent killer. So far I am beating the odds, thanks to God's grace and mercy. Every day doctors and scientists are working towards new treatments. Hopefully someday there will be a CURE! But until then, we must persevere!

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and raise funds to support Coloradans with seven different types of gynecologic cancers: Ovarian, fallopian tube, uterine/endometrial, cervical, vaginal, vulvar and peritoneal cancers. This event benefits Sue's Gift - Gynecologic Cancer Support. Sue's Gift continues to be a major support for me as an ovarian cancer 'survivor'. Sue's Gift believes everyone deserves the best chance at survival regardless of their economic or social situation. Sue's Gift Financial Assistance Program helps people who are facing a gynecologic cancer diagnosis pay their bills as they go through treatment. The Peer Support Program, started with a grant from Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, trains and empowers survivors, one-year post treatment, to mentor a person newly diagnosed with the same cancer type. Studies have shown that people diagnosed with cancer have better survival rates and lower rates of PTSD if they have emotional, social, and financial support during their cancer journey. Your support and generosity will provide vital services for people diagnosed with gynecologic cancer in Colorado. Would you consider donating?
